A-Line Skirt Pattern Drafting...

What? Yes. I'm going to try to make an a-line skirt. Not only that, but I'm going to try drafting my own pattern!!
I'm using Cal Patch's awesome book to help me through the process. She's having an a-line skirt sew along on her blog which just happens to coincide with Me Made May and The Summer of No Pants. Since I can't find any clothes I like (thanks Target!), I'm just going to have to try making my own :)

I'll be using DS Quilts Aunt Edna Circle Dot in grey for my wearable muslin. Wish me luck!!! If I completely mess it up, the cost of the fabric wasn't too bad (50% off JoAnn coupon!!). I'll still be a little sad, but I won't be devastated =P

But before I start, I need to work on this pile of drawstring bags first.

This may not look like much, but there are actually over 20 bags in that pile =P
I'm sure I'll need a bag sewing break at some point today and that's when I'll start working on my skirt.

If anyone has any clothing making tips for me, I'm all ears!!! =D
Happy Wednesday!!

Knitting Roundup...

Is it possible to have too many knitting projects going at once?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have enough handspun to make a double-loop skinny summer cowl. Doesn't it look like Skittles or Fruit Loops? I hope I don't look like a clown wearing it lol.

Maryland Sheep and Wool

I went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival this past weekend. It was so much fun!!

There were some very cute goats...
Baby goat!

Cuties!!!

Sheep shearing demonstrations...
Now they are demonstrating with electric clippers...

More shearing...

Sheep shearing!

And of course, shopping...
I completely blew my fiber diet =P
I had zero self control in the Jill Draper booth...

A wee bit of self control in the Into the Whirled booth...

I would have bought more, but we didn't go back to their booth the second day =P

Then I lost self control again and bought two pounds of fiber from some local farms...

I'm glad I got to go at least once. I had so much fun and met some really wonderful people. I'm not a fan of crowds though, especially when everyone is crammed into tiny vendor booths. That part was really difficult for me. I'm not a pushy kind of girl =P

A Lovely Year of Finishes - May Project

I don't seem to be very good at finishing my projects for A Lovely Year of Finishes :(
For the month of May, I would really like to finish the last two bathmats for our bathroom.

The bias binding is finished. I just need to machine sew it to the top and hand sew it to the back of these two mats. This time I'm making calendar entries to remind myself to finish them =P

I hope you'll stop back tomorrow. I was at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival over the weekend and have some yummy yummy eye candy to share.

I've been posting lots to Instagram, Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter. If you would like to see what else I've been up to, you can follow me using my sidebar links. Don't worry, I'll still be posting here too. The last few weeks have just been really busy, so it's been easier to snap pictures and do quick uploads as I go through the day.

Mailbox love and some crafty business...

Last week, I won a bundle of one of Lori Holt's most adorable fabric lines, Polka Dot Stitches! This is seriously one of my favorite fabric lines out right now. I love all of the colors and the prints are too cute for words.

I plan on making Lori's Stitchy kit, a sewing machine cover and a quilted mat for under my sewing machine!!
Thank you Lori for having such a wonderful giveaway!!! I can't wait to get started!!!

Doesn't this look like candy? I love it. I needed some springtime happy colors on my wheel and I think this is perfect =D
