I stayed up until a little after 2:30am on Christmas Day just to finish hubby's Christmas gift.
He LOVES it :)
I never would have found the Super Mario Brothers quilt along hosted by Angela over at Cut to Pieces if it weren't for one of my newest followers Cherise. I just love meeting new bloggers. Thank you Cherise =D
I'm still not sure what to do with the quilting. My machine doesn't quilt very nicely, so I only did simple stitching around Mario to hold him in place. Thank goodness my machine cooperated that much :) I'm actually thinking about ripping out those machine stitches and hand quilting it. What do you think?
A Lovely Year of Finishes starts tomorrow. YAY!!! I'm so awful at keeping up with sew alongs and quilt alongs, but I'm hoping this time will be different. You only have to pick one project a month to finish and it can be anything you want =D I have tons of patterns that I want to make and an unfinished Christmas quilt, so maybe I'll actually get some things accomplished this year. I hope you'll join in too. Thank you Shanna and Melissa for putting this together. I hope I can keep up!

What a great quilt! I'm not sure about ripping out {sounds like a ton of work} but maybe embellishing with hand stitching along side! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper excited you're joining in. I SO know you can do it with just one project to focus on. :)
love, love your project!! How special!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
This quilt is so amazing! I don't quilt and only sew buttons on sweaters, so I can't offer any useful opinions or advice on the quilting question, but I do hope your husband appreciates what an amazing effort this was!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Mario quilt. I hadn't seen a quilt along either. I can just imagine how much your hubby loves it, I know Phil would love one!
